Into some cool indoor climbing? Now’s the perfect time to go!

Hangovers has again some great deals with the climbing centers in Helsinki:
- regular climbing on Friday afternoons in Tapanila (see “basic information”)
- new deal with Pasila’s cave: climbing on Tuesdays from 20.30 onwards: 5 euros

Work less – climb more!!

I hope you guys are having an enjoyable time and are not working too hard for school. There are two new matters regarding climbing:

1. When you come climbing on Fridays to Tapanila please remember to put down your name to the Hangovers-list in order to receive the full subsidized session, you can simply ask at the receiption desk.

2. Hangover-members are from now welcome for regularly bouldering sessions at the Cave in Pasila, we negotiated a deal for the start: Every Tuesday starting from 20:00 pm until you last in The Cave – 5 Euros (normal price 10 euros!).

The Hangovers aka KY’s Climbing club will be once again arranging the basic course for wall climbing in cooperation with Tapanila Climbing Center!

The basic course will teach you basic skills, use of equipment and belaying so that in the future you can focus on the actual safe climbing! We have struck a deal with the center so this course is very cheap for KY members. Only 30€/person instead of the 70€ it normally is. You won’t find a better deal! Price includes two free climbing tickets and 10 times free rental of equipment. You’re actually saving more than you’re paying!

The Hangovers crowd will be leaving from the main lobby to the climbing center on Friday 6.2. together with you guys so you find the place easily. Of course you can go there by yourself also!

Take this opportunity to learn climbing and come buy your tickets from HSE Main lobby on Wednesday 4.2. at 11.45-12.15 and again at 13.45-14.15. There are a limited amount of 17 tickets also this time, make sure to be in time to get yours! Last time over 10 people were left without a ticket!

Basics of climbing -course is here again! Now it’s the best time to start climbing!

KY:s climbing club “The Hangovers” arranges in co-operation with Helsinki’s climbing centre a basic course.

This course teaches you everything you need to start climbing by yourself.

The course costs only 25e (normally 70e!) so this is a great change to get a cheap course and get to know other starting climbers.

The group for the course leaves at 11am from the main lobby of HSE.

Tickets are sold in main lobby on 27.10., 28.10., 30.10. ja 4.11.

Welcome! … or if you’re a climber already, this is the perfect way to get your friends start climbing!

The HSE autumn is starting, new Walruses with uncertain faces walking all around and the student life starting again. But instead of suffering from hangover, why not get to know people from Hangovers – the KY climbing club?

The usual weekly climbing sessions will carry on at Tapanila, as the climbing center starts to be open also on Fridays this week. Take the opportunity and arrive to Tapanila any Friday before 3pm. As a KY member you’ll get to climb for totally free (unless you need to hire equipment), just show your student card and say your k-number at the counter!

This applies for anyone who knows already how to climb. However, if you haven’t climbed before, keep watching the Hangovers blog – basic courses are likely to be organised also this fall.

The hangovers climbing club has made its first purchase:
- 2 harnesses for beginners
- 60 m rope
- 8 express

and much more shall follow…

So if you never tried climbing – this is your chance! Harness and entrance (€ 6.00) are provided by the hangovers club. Shoes can be rented in Tapanila (€ 3.00).

Heya!

The Hangovers’ sauna-evening is here, this Friday, 15.2.! Most of the participants are gonna first go climbing in Tapanila as usual and then come to enjoy a hot sauna, food (yes, real food) and good company of course You are also warmly welcome to join us only during the sauna-evening if you’re not up for / don’t have time for climbing this Friday. Evening officially starts at 19.00 and we have the place (KY Sauna) till 22.00.

However, it would be great if you could “sign up” by sending me email to nabila.bassam@student.hse.fi writing anything you want as “registration”. Deadline Thursday at 23.59. This way we’ll have some idea on how many hungry people we should be preparing to nourish

Finally, the first sauna evening of Hangovers.

Come to enjoy the climbers’ company at KY 3rd floor on the 15th of February, at 7pm!

All climbers and all interested in climbing are warmly welcome.

Some food included, bring your own drinks. If you wish to go to the sauna, you might also want to take a towel along.

The activity of Hangovers carries on in the spring 2008, every week!
All climbers are welcome to join us on Fridays 2pm in the main lobby, from where we will head to Tapanila.
